SIG Sauer hosted its 9th Annual Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) Charity Golf event early last month and raised more than $160,000 to support disabled veterans. The gathering was held at Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, N.H., and hosted 192 golfers. The number of sponsors this year rose to 27.

Governor Kelly Ayotte (R) made a proclamation recognizing SIG Sauer for its outstanding support of disabled veterans. “Now, Therefore, I, Kelly Ayotte, Governor of the state of New Hampshire, do hereby proclaim August 1, 2025 as the 9th Annual SIG Sauer Charity Golf Tournament in the State of New Hampshire, and I commend SIG Sauer, its employees, and all supporters of HAVA for their commitment to our veterans and to the values that define the Granite State,” Gov. Ayotte stated in the document.

HAVA was formed by companies in the shooting and outdoor industry in 2007. Its mission is to raising awareness and assist disabled veterans with their healing process by providing shooting events, guided hunts and other outdoor sports activities.

“HAVA would like to thank SIG Sauer, all event attendees, sponsors and Governor Ayotte for this incredible contribution,” said Tom Taylor, HAVA chairman and executive director. “During its nine-year history, this event has raised more than $800,000 in support of the HAVA mission to get disabled veterans out shooting and hunting, and reintegrating after the sacrifices they’ve made for our country.”

Some of the biggest names in the firearm industry are sustaining sponsors of HAVA. They include Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Hornady, Taurus, Mossberg, Federal Premium, SIG Sauer, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Glock, Leupold & Stevens, Crimson Trace, Surefire, XS Sights, Academi, Arnold Defense, Crimson Trace, FMG Publications, Leapers/UTG, RSR Group and Yamaha Outdoors. Dozens of other firms are contributing companies.
