18-Year-Old Shot in Face During Park Altercation

An 18-year-old man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a shooting that erupted during a group fight at Kelley Park in Apple Valley early Saturday morning. The Apple Valley Police Department reports that officers were dispatched to the park around 12:40 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots, where they discovered shell casings in multiple locations near the scene.

Witnesses indicate that a physical altercation prompted the gunfire, leading to a chaotic scene as multiple suspects fled the area in different vehicles before police arrived. The wounded individual presented himself at a local police station, where he received prompt medical attention before being transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities are currently seeking information regarding the suspects, with no arrests made at this time.
