A fourth person has been sentenced to 34 months in federal prison for her involvement in a planned armed robbery at a Hopkins grocery store, where the group stole approximately $45,000. Katrice Sanders, 32, played a crucial role in orchestrating the getaway during the robbery at U.S. Grocery & Tobacco on February 15, 2024, where armed accomplices bound employees and violently demanded access to the store’s safe.

The case reveals a meticulously planned crime, lasting over two weeks, involving multiple participants including store employee Kynesha Jones, who provided inside information. Other co-conspirators, Darius and Ryan Elam, have received lengthy sentences of 112 and 109 months, respectively, for their roles in this brazen act of theft and violence. This incident underscores the severe consequences of such crimes and the collaborative planning that can lead to substantial financial losses for local businesses.
