During a traffic stop in Spartanburg County, a driver accidentally shoots himself in the leg while attempting to evade deputies investigating an armed robbery. The incident unfolded around 4:30 p.m. on Monday when deputies spotted a matching suspect vehicle and initiated a stop at the intersection of Isom Street and Beaumont Avenue.

Upon halting, the driver confronted deputies, claiming he had been shot. After receiving medical assistance, he admitted to shooting himself. The driver, now hospitalized, has an active domestic violence warrant against him and may face additional charges stemming from this event.
