SLG2, an outdoor industry marketing company, named NRA Publications as the recipient of its Safe LivinG’s Excellence in Safety Award for Q4 2024 during the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas. Safety and responsibility are core missions at NRA Publications.

“It is a pleasure to present the Excellence in Safety Award for Q4 to NRA Publications,” said Karen Butler, founder and president of SLG2. “NRA Publications has a strong voice in the outdoor industry, and we admire its commitment to its readers and their emphasis on firearm safety.”

NRA Publications reaches millions of Americans dedicated to freedom and personal responsibility each month in its print editions and through multiple websites each day. Its knowledgeable and experienced team covers personal protection, shooting and hunting—always prioritizing safe practices—as well at teaching values to future generations. Through award-winning magazines, digital content and dynamic media, it offers in-depth coverage of firearms, conservation and NRA leadership and the organization’s programs. With a strong focus on the values that resonate with its readers, NRA Publications remains a leading voice in the firearms and shooting sports community.

“We are honored to receive the Q4 Excellence in Safety Award from Safe LivinG,” said Mike Sanford, deputy executive director of NRA Publications. “We admire what Safe LivinG does to promote safety and security for families. As an organization that holds those same traditional values, we are grateful for the recognition.”

At the 2025 SHOT Show, Sanford, NRA’s Executive Director of General Operations Josh Savani and NRAWomen.com Editor-in-Chief Ann Smith accepted the cut-crystal trophy that signifies the importance of always reflecting on safety.

Safe LivinG—a key initiative under the SLG2 umbrella—focuses on helping women, men and families live securely through educational programs and practical safety solutions.
