Dr. Scott Hadland, Chief of Adolescent Medicine at Mass General for Children, highlights the alarming statistic that the equivalent of 13 children are killed by guns every day, predominantly due to homicide and suicide, underscoring the urgent need for preventive measures.

Dr. Hadland advocates for proactive conversations about gun safety, encouraging parents to inquire about the presence of firearms in homes their children visit. He emphasizes that every gun-related death is preventable and suggests storing firearms securely and separately from ammunition, providing a clear path toward enhanced child safety in a world where this public health crisis continues to escalate.
