In response, the grassroots organization Violence, Intervention & Prevention (VIP Fort Worth) focuses on equipping young people with essential emotional tools to address conflicts without resorting to violence. McIntosh, a former gang member, intimately understands the struggles faced by the community. He and his team, comprising individuals with similar backgrounds, aim to provide mentorship and support, teaching participants about emotional intelligence and trauma management. By fostering a safe environment for dialogue, VIP Fort Worth hopes to empower young people to express their frustrations constructively and break the cycle of violence that has plagued the area. Through these efforts, the group seeks not only to save lives but also to transform the future of troubled youth in Fort Worth.
