Nashville police have taken 47-year-old Nathaniel Williams into custody following an armed robbery incident that forced him to flee into the Stones River. Reports indicate that Williams threatened a woman with a gun in a Marshall’s parking lot, stealing her purse before leading officers on a chase that concluded with him taking refuge in the river.

This standoff lasted for hours as Williams clung to a log while police awaited his surrender. Notably, Williams has a lengthy criminal record, including a 1998 conviction for second-degree murder and recent charges related to attempted murder involving his brother. His arrest draws attention to ongoing concerns regarding repeat offenders in the Nashville area.
