Ruiz reportedly threatened to shoot and claimed he was a victim of a “swatting” prank, all while still pointing a weapon at officers when the shooting occurred. Following the altercation, Ruiz was arrested and faces multiple felony charges, raising questions about police response protocols in similar high-stakes situations.
