Scott Brun, a 59-year-old resident of Lake Hallie, faces serious charges after allegedly pointing a loaded firearm at police officers responding to his 911 call. During the incident, which occurred last month, Brun reportedly emerged from his home brandishing a handgun, prompting a struggle with law enforcement that concluded without any shots fired.

Brun has been charged with intentionally pointing a firearm at an officer and operating a firearm while intoxicated, having registered a blood alcohol level of .24. Following his arrest, he was released on a $10,000 signature bond with strict conditions, including an order to avoid alcohol and firearms. Brun is scheduled to appear in court again on June 3, raising urgent questions about public safety in the community.
