Two brothers from Lynn, Maurice and Meliek Bennett, are facing multiple charges after being arrested for their alleged involvement in drug distribution and firearms offenses. Law enforcement identified Maurice, 38, as a member of the Bloods street gang and discovered text messages coordinating the sale of drugs like marijuana, counterfeit pills, and cocaine between him and his younger brother, Meliek, 29.
During the investigation, authorities intercepted recordings where Meliek discussed violent intentions towards a drug supplier over a debt, revealing the dangerous atmosphere surrounding their operations. A search of Meliek’s home uncovered a .22 caliber pistol, ammunition, and various controlled substances, leading to serious charges including conspiracy to distribute drugs and illegal firearm possession. If convicted, the brothers could face up to 20 years in prison.
