Two brothers, 32-year-old Marcel Laquan Whitney and 33-year-old Eric Lavon Whitney Jr., have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on June 4 outside Hilda’s Family Country Store in Washington, North Carolina. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office reported that the suspects allegedly threatened a victim with firearms, which were later recovered during the arrest.
Authorities swiftly located the suspects’ vehicle, a burgundy 2025 Mitsubishi Mirage, just a couple of hours after the incident, leading to their capture in a restaurant parking lot. Both men are now in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center without bond, while law enforcement continues to investigate and seeks information regarding an additional unidentified male suspect who fled the scene.
