Jackson police have arrested two teenagers, 17-year-old Timauri Blackmon and 15-year-old Tavorris Flowers, in connection with the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Jeffery Bolton near Green Elementary School. Both suspects are charged as adults with accessory before and after the fact to murder, while a warrant is outstanding for a third suspect, 21-year-old DeMarion Martin, who remains at large.
The shooting occurred on May 19 and led to a brief lockdown at the elementary school, which is located just across the street from where Bolton’s body was found. Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade emphasized the unsettling nature of the violence occurring in proximity to a school, pointing out that it significantly affects the community’s sense of safety.
