An armed citizen is alive after stopping a murder attempt with his firearm in Manitou Springs, Colo.
Police say a 22-year-old aggressor approached the man’s house around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, armed with a knife. The two men met in the driveway, and the knife-wielding aggressor stabbed the man in the neck. Fearing for his life, the victim then shot the attacker twice. Police and EMS arrived shortly thereafter and transported both men to the hospital.
The stabbing suspect, as the aggressor, faces charges of criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder and first-degree assault. According to police, the shooter who defended himself is not being charged. The cause of the incident is still under investigation. (KKTV 11; Manitou Springs, Colo.; 3/26/25)

Bartender Billie Snyder was alone in a St. Louis, Mo., tavern when three men came in. After one of them pulled out a pistol and announced a hold-up, Snyder quickly reached for his handgun and fired four shots, wounding the burglar in the arm.
