Two suspects are injured along with a deputy after a police shooting in Pueblo, sparked by an investigation of a suspicious vehicle at a gas station late Tuesday night. According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to engage the individuals when the driver accelerated, hitting a patrol car and prompting deputies to fire at the suspect vehicle.
The incident escalated further as the suspects fled westbound on Colorado 96, eventually leading to a crash that required deputies to intervene and force the vehicle to roll. Both suspects suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital, while the injured deputy was also treated for injuries related to the collision. The shooting is now under investigation by a county critical incident response team, overseen by the Pueblo Police Department.
