The Flint community unites for the 24th annual Unity March Against Violence, organized by WOW Outreach and over 20 local partners. The march, which began at Wilson Park on the University of Michigan-Flint campus, emphasizes the need for peace and solidarity against the backdrop of rising gun violence, as shared by participants who have been directly affected by these tragedies.
Among the attendees, Tora Marshall reflects on her personal loss, advocating for a shift from violence to community support, stating, “We need to stop all of this violence… Put the guns down and pick up the bible.” Following the march, a resource fair and Gospel Explosion provided further opportunities for community engagement, highlighting the event’s commitment to fostering unity and healing in Flint.
