Robin Peguero, who previously served as investigative counsel for the January 6th congressional subcommittee, announces his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida. He seeks to challenge Republican Rep. María Elvira Salazar amid a crowded Democratic field that includes former Key Biscayne Mayor Mike Davey and businessman Richard Lamondin.

With a background in law and experience in high-profile political roles, including work with Senators and as a homicide prosecutor, Peguero emphasizes the need for a change in South Florida. He expresses a commitment to supporting working families and small businesses, claiming a district that traditionally leans Republican should not dictate the future of its constituents. Salazar won her last election by over 20 points, highlighting the challenges Peguero will face in this pivotal race.
