Authorities in Westchester County successfully dismantle an illegal firearms assembly operation in New Rochelle, following a months-long investigation. The raid, executed on July 8, 2025, led to the discovery of multiple ghost guns, including a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol and various firearms in different stages of assembly, prompting concerns about the proliferation of such untraceable weapons in the community.

56-year-old Randy Thor was arrested and charged with several firearm-related offenses, reflecting the serious implications of the illicit operation. Investigators highlighted the significance of the location on Cooper Drive, identified as a central hub for the assembly and distribution of these weapons, which are becoming increasingly popular among criminals due to their lack of serial numbers.
