A federal grand jury has indicted Rueben Phill, a 41-year-old man from Tracy, on three counts of illegal firearms trafficking and possession. The indictment reveals that Phill allegedly conspired with 34-year-old Alejandra Castillo to transport and sell firearms on the black market from Nevada to California within the past year.
In a separate incident, Phill led law enforcement on a high-speed chase exceeding 100 miles per hour, ultimately prompting authorities to halt the pursuit for public safety concerns. Investigations have connected more than 30 firearms to this conspiracy, with at least three tied to firearm-related crimes, compelling authorities to act under initiatives aimed at reducing gun violence. If convicted, Phill faces up to 15 years in prison and substantial fines for each count.
