Four men are recovering after being shot in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred around noon when three individuals exited a vehicle and opened fire as the men stood on a sidewalk in the 4900 block of West Ferdinand Street.
According to police reports, a 26-year-old man sustained an ankle injury, while a 51-year-old was shot in the side; both were transported to Stroger Hospital. A 31-year-old man suffered a shoulder injury, and a 37-year-old was shot in the legs; they were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital for treatment. No suspects have been apprehended, raising concerns in the community amidst ongoing efforts to address gun violence.
