As the officer pursued him, Cruz-Campos was shot in the shoulder but continued running before dropping his firearm. He was later subdued with a stun gun after refusing to comply with police instructions. The incident is under investigation by both the Dallas Police Special Investigations Unit and the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, marking the fifth police shooting in Dallas this year.
