The dove hunting season in Arkansas kicks off on September 6, 2025, with 19 wildlife management areas (WMAs) prepared to welcome eager hunters. The season offers more than 600 acres of public access designated for dove hunting, providing a variety of landscapes, including sunflowers and top-sown wheat fields to attract birds. Hunters who applied for permits during August will gain exclusive access to certain areas on the opening weekend, enhancing the excitement of the hunt.

Wildlife management officials note the importance of habitat diversity, as fields planted in wheat not only draw doves but also sustain local deer populations as the season progresses. Additionally, the regions of Hope Upland and Grandview Prairie feature some of the largest dove fields, covering up to 77 acres, amidst recent weather changes that may influence bird activity. With regulations in place to ensure responsible hunting, including bag limits and HIP registration, Arkansas is set to be a prime destination for both seasoned and novice dove hunters alike.
