An armed customer attempted to stop an attack at a McDonald’s restaurant in Eastpointe, Mich., and ultimately aided in subduing the suspect, according to local reports.

Police say the incident began when one of the McDonald’s employees, a 26-year-old woman, was asked to leave by her manager following an argument. The woman left the premises but allegedly returned and entered through the employee entrance, wearing a mask and wielding a knife. The suspect then stabbed her manager, a 39-year-old woman, multiple times.

A legally armed customer at the drive-thru window witnessed the attack and drew and fired on the suspect in an effort to stop her assault. The suspect fled to a nearby vehicle, and the customer followed her, ultimately holding her at gunpoint until police arrived. Despite his efforts to stop the initial attack, the stabbing victim succumbed to her wounds. The suspect, now in custody, faces charges of first-degree premeditated murder and carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent. (NBC 5 Chicago; Eastpointe, Mich.; 7/12/25)

Two men entered the grocery of E.T. Hunter, 77, in Ormond Beach, Fla. One asked for cigarettes. As Hunter turned around, the other pointed a pistol at his head and demanded cash. When Hunter grabbed for the pistol, the bandit hit him over the head with it.

Mrs. Hunter, meanwhile, grabbed a gun from under the counter, fired and missed. The shots forced the bandits to flee on foot. Neighbor Charles Hines spotted them and covered one with a gun until police arrived. The other was arrested later. (Daytona Beach Journal, Daytona Beach, Fla.)
