Armed Citizen® Today

An armed Arizona man was forced to defend himself and his dog from an animal attack while walking in his neighborhood, according to local reports.

According to information provided to The Sacramento Bee by the Arizona Game and Fish Dept., the man was walking his dog at about 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, when a mountain lion attacked the dog. The man was able to fend off the mountain lion’s attack by fighting and kicking it. But the animal wasn’t done.

After the first attack, the man and his dog began making their way back home. The mountain lion stalked the pair, following them and getting closer. When the animal got too close, the man drew a firearm and shot the mountain lion, killing it. State game officials recovered the mountain lion’s body later on and stated that, “The action was in self-defense, and no citations were issued.” the dog reportedly suffered only minor injuries in the attack.
