Ruger brought the micro-compact .380 ACP semi-automtic pistol into the mainstream with its original LCP. Over the years, the company has enhanced the LCP with the introduction of the LCP II and LCP Max. New for 2026, Ruger is offering a new version of the LCP Max with the addition of a Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip (EHG).

New for 2026, Ruger is updating the LCP Max with a Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip (EHG). Shown with the new 13-round magazine with Magpul extension.

Ruger’s collaboration with Magpul on handguns goes back to the RXM, a modular 9 mm pistol that uses Magpul’s EHG module. The new LCP Max takes the same characteristics of the RXM EHG and applies them to the .380 ACP pocket pistol. This includes Magpul’s 3/4-scale TSP texture that is designed to provide a secure grip without being too aggressive for concealed carry and the module’s Stealth Gray color as used by the original RXM. The improved ergonomics of the EHG include a higher beavertail, an undercut trigger guard and a longer trigger-pull length. According to Ruger and Magpul, these features combine to make the new Max better at controlling recoil and muzzle rise, as well as make it easier to handle and shoot.

The LCP Max Magpul uses Ruger’s Secure Action fire-control system with a manual safety.

Ruger modifies the LCP Max’s magazines specifically for the Magpul edition. The flush-fit 10-round magazine has a floorplate that matches the grip’s color and texture. A new 13-round magazine includes a Magpul extension that integrates seamlessly with the EHG. The magazine release is larger and enhanced for easier use and is reversible for right or left-handed shooters. One magazine of each capacity is supplied with each pistol, along with a magazine loader and a soft pocket holster. The pistol is compatible with original LCP Max 10- and 12-round magazines.

Sights on the LCP Max Magpul are a tritium front sight with white outline and U-notch rear.

The final enhancement for the Magpul LCP Max is the slide profile has been re-designed to mimic the style of the RXM and is given a black nitride finish. Other features are retained from the original LCP Max, including Ruger’s Secure Action fire-control system, which uses an internal hammer, bladed-safety trigger and manual safety lever. Sights are a tritium front sight with white outline and U-notch rear. The resulting pistol is slightly larger than the original Max, with a height of 4.78 inches and a weight of 11.2 ounces.

The Ruger LCP Max with Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip has an MSRP of $449. For more information, see Ruger’s website. Magpul will also be selling the EHG module for those who would like to upgrade their manual-safety-equipped LCP Max pistols. With an MSRP of $39.95, the modules will come in black, Stealth Gray, flat dark earth and olive drab green colors and come with a color-matched grip extension. For more information, see Magpul’s website.
