We’re out in my west pasture today — and no, that’s not a green screen. Susie mowed the other day, it looks pretty darn good, and I figured I’d share the scenery with you. But we’re actually here to talk about custom handgun grips.

I’ve got this big old Colt, and my friend Ketch from Ketch’s Kreations made a beautiful set of grips for it. I’ll be damned if I can remember what kind of wood he used, and he’ll probably yell at me for that, but I can tell you this: Ketch knows what he’s doing.

He makes custom grips for several different kinds of handguns, including some you don’t see supported very often. Surprisingly, he even makes grips for Star pistols like the PD, BKM and BM. If you’ve ever tried finding custom grips for one of those, you know there aren’t exactly a lot of choices.

I’ve got some of his grips on my Star pistols, and it’s remarkable how much a nice set of stocks can change a gun’s entire look and feel. Sometimes that’s all it takes to give an old favorite a whole new personality.

Best of all, Ketch’s work is surprisingly affordable considering you’re getting something made specifically for your gun.

If you’ve got a Colt, a Star or another handgun that could use a little dressing up, take a look at what Ketch’s Kreations has to offer. A good set of custom grips might be all your old pistol needs. (And Ketch, sorry again about forgetting the name of that wood.)
