Argentinean manufacturer Bersa is known for its compact, concealed-carry handguns. In 2023, the company announced that it would be opening a manufacturing facility in the U.S. Bersa’s first firearm to be produced in this country was a tried-and-true American design — the AR-15. New for 2024, Bersa is introducing its second American-made firearm (once again, a classic design that originated in this country), with the B1911.
The B1911 series is Bersa’s interpretation of the classic all-steel M1911 pistol (Oynx finish version shown).
The Bersa B1911 is a full-size, all-steel M1911 with Series 70-style single-action fire control components. Frame and slide are made of 416 stainless steel that are hand-lapped and fitted. The slide features aggressive front and rear serrations and houses a 5” barrel with mirror-polished bore. Sights fit into dovetails and consist of a steel Novak rear sight and an Ameriglo front sight with tritium insert. The frame is checkered on the front strap and the mainspring housing is also checkered. Grips are made of G-10 material by VZ Grips. Controls consist of a bilateral safety lever and traditional left-side magazine release button and slide release lever. An extended and lightened trigger, skeletonized hammer and beavertail complete the package.
The B1911 is a full-size pistol chambered in .45 ACP with enhanced features and several finish options (two-tone pictured).
The B1911 is available in six finish options:
- Blue stainless: brushed stainless frame and slide with blue grips (pictured in opening image).
- Two-tone: matte black frame and brushed stainless slide
- Rosewood: brushed stainless frame and matte black slide (pictured in opening image)
- Onyx: matte black frame and slide
- FDE: flat dark earth Cerakote frame and slide
- Mirror: brushed stainless frame and polished stainless slide
Though all use a stainless steel frame and slide, the B1911 is offered with a variety of finish options, such as this FDE Cerakote.
B1911s are currently only available as full-size pistols chambered in .45 ACP, but Bersa has plans to release additional size options and chamberings in the future.
