A disabled Vietnam War veteran defended his life and his home from a knife-wielding intruder in Albuquerque, N.M. on Monday, August 5.
The veteran was awoken early in the morning by a slamming noise coming from his bedroom window. When he investigated, he saw a knife stuck under the window, wiggling back and forth, and the window was opening up. The veteran grabbed a handgun he keeps on his nightstand, told the intruder to “get the hell away from here,” and fired a single round. The intruder took off.
Police arrived on scene soon after, as the veteran called 911 after firing the shot, and officers found the intruder deceased on the street a short distance away. (KOB 4 News; Albuquerque, N.M.; 8/7/24)
