Federal And CCI Continue To Sponsor Youth Programs

Federal Ammunition is continuing its support for the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and recently served as a Gold Level sponsor of the 2024 SCTP National Championships. The prestigious event, which attracted some of the nation’s best young shooters, took place July 13 to 20 at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio. 

SCTP is one of the nation’s largest, fastest growing and most exciting youth clay target programs. It allows elementary through high school and college students to compete in sports such as trap, skeet and sporting clays, as well as Olympic disciplines like bunker trap and international skeet.

“While many competitive shooters nationwide are gearing up to watch our country’s team compete in Paris later this summer on the world’s greatest stage, it’s good to support this event now,” said Jon Zinnel, Federal director of community relations. “The SCTP is a great feeder program for the future of USA Shooting. The National Tournament provides a highly competitive environment while promoting the highest level of safety across the shooting ranges. Thousands of youth participants from dozens of states attend the event.”

Meanwhile, CCI ammunition—also a member of Vista Outdoor’s The Kinetic Group of companies—continued its dedicated support for the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). Part of the support includes participating as a Platinum Level sponsor of the 2024 SASP National Championships, which took place concurrently at the Cardinal Shooting Center.

“The SASP has a great training program that allows novice shooters the chance to participate in a rapidly growing sport and develop the skills needed to excel,” said Jon Zinnel, CCI community relations director. “CCI Ammunition is happy to continue its partnership with SASP and help them grow to even higher levels while offering a safe program for these student-athletes.”

SASP offers youth, from grade school through college, the opportunity to participate in exciting team-based action shooting sports safely. Youth may participate using .22 LR rifles and handguns, as well as centerfire handguns. Targets are steel circles or rectangular plates, and all courses of fire are timed events.
