Join Steven Rinella in his latest adventures as he dives into history’s greatest and most perplexing wilderness mysteries in Hunting History.

With his deep knowledge of the wild, survival expertise, and unyielding curiosity and grit, Steve is uniquely positioned to look at these mysteries through a totally new lens, examining how people’s interactions with their environment may rewrite the narrative on some of our most iconic legends.

Executive Producer of the show, Morgan (Mo) Fallo, recently joined Steve and the Crew on an episode of The MeatEater Podcast to discuss what went into creating Hunting History. To get an inside look at the upcoming season, you can listen to the episode here.

“These are not selected because they’re finite mysteries,” Fallon said. “They’re selected because they’re mysteries with all kinds of possibilities. And that’s what makes it fun.”

In the show, Steve teams up with wilderness experts, historians, and archeologists to uncover stories of lost ships, vanished pioneers, ancient civilizations, unexplained phenomena, and more. Steve takes the viewer on a journey to some of the most unforgiving landscapes in the country – from the snowbound peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the sun-scorched deserts of New Mexico, the remote wilds of Alaska, and the perilous waters of the Great Lakes.

“These are all mysteries that have an element of the outdoors and wilderness, and no one has really approached them from that point of view,” Fallon said. “A lot of what we spent our time in the show doing was living these things and going through — to the best of our abilities — the things that those people went through.”

Ultimately, Steve connects history, nature, and human ingenuity in a thrilling quest to better understand our most enduring mysteries, our landscapes, and our relationship to wild places.
