A jewelry store in Sunnyvale narrowly escapes a robbery attempt on Friday afternoon when armed guards thwart the would-be criminals. At approximately 3 p.m., the suspects crashed a stolen vehicle into the establishment on E. El Camino Real in an effort to gain entry and steal valuable items, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Fortunately, the guards confronted the assailants, causing them to flee the scene in a second stolen vehicle before any jewels or cash could be taken. Remarkably, no shots were fired and no injuries were reported during the incident, which has left police seeking information but without any arrests made so far. Authorities encourage anyone with tips to contact Detective Rosette at (408) 730-7110.
