Park Ridge police are investigating an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven on Higgins Road, where two suspects reportedly injured a clerk with mace while stealing cigarettes and liquor. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on August 5, leading to the clerk being taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Described as males disguised in female clothing, the suspects fled on foot with several cartons of cigarettes and bottles of alcohol after the attack. This particular 7-Eleven has faced similar incidents previously, with two reported armed robberies in the past year, raising concerns about ongoing safety issues in the area. Police are reviewing surveillance footage and seek information from the public to assist in their investigation.
