The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has arrested a 29-year-old man and seized firearms following two search warrants executed in response to multiple shootings on the 4th of July. Bernard Murff Jr. was found with a stolen .45 caliber handgun and is charged with several firearm-related offenses, remaining in custody due to a federal probation violation.
In addition to Murff Jr.’s arrest, three other individuals were taken into custody for outstanding warrants, and authorities recovered a .40 caliber handgun, ammunition, and burglary tools from the scene. KDPS is actively investigating these violent incidents and encourages anyone with further information to come forward.
