In September 2012, 35-year-old Jeffrey Gebhardt vanished in the Georgia woods during an early-season deer hunt. Just a few hours later, search teams discovered his body on the edge of Clarks Hill Lake—hands folded neatly on his chest, gear scattered nearby, and eighteen stab wounds across his torso. What investigators didn’t find was even more disturbing. In 1717, the first standardized flintlock musket was supplied to all French soldiers. While identified as a French infantry musket or a French pattern musket, these firearms became known as “Charleville muskets,” due to the armory from whence they came, the Charleville-Mézières in Ardennes, France, largely due to the gun’s significant presence in and influence on the American Revolution. As the American colonists’ close ally in the fight against Great Britain, France delivered thousands of “Charleville” muskets to the American government. This was vital in satisfying the deficiency of long guns as a result of Great Britain’s 1774 import ban…
As hunters and anglers, endangered species aren’t typically on our minds. A series of newly proposed changes, however, could impact those protections. On November 19, the Trump Administration announced four proposed revisions that would apply to the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the National Marine Fisheries Service. Generally,…

00:00:00 Speaker 1: Well to that point, I’d kind of like thought, oh, I missed my broadside shot. So he was a little bit quartered away and just a little bit farther back, and I mean it was about as perfect as shot as you could. Hit it right in the heart, hit him in the heart, and then somehow his the arrow angled off either a rib or the shoulder on the other side. After the broadhead snapped off, the arrow just poked through like the top of the neck and see the kill shot. But it was pretty…
