The events of April 19, 1775, at the Massachusetts towns of Lexington and Concord stirred a hornet’s nest among the American colonists. After heavy fighting along what is now known as Battle Road, the British army in North America was trapped in the city of Boston by thousands of militiamen from surrounding colonies. Hoke County authorities, in collaboration with U.S. Marshals, have arrested Dmirist Ford, suspected of committing multiple armed robberies at Dollar General stores in Raeford and Aberdeen, North Carolina. The investigation began on June 2 when Ford allegedly brandished a handgun during a robbery at a Dollar General on Highway 15/501, where he forced employees to lock the doors in an attempt to gain access to the store’s safe. Following weeks of investigation and additional incidents, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives helped identify Ford, leading to his arrest on three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. A woman was shot and killed in Norfolk on Monday morning, prompting authorities to issue an Amber Alert for her missing 4-year-old son, Kai Foreman. Police found the woman dead at the scene on East Liberty Street around 11:35 a.m. and identified Tyli Nekah Scott, 27, as a person connected to the case, believed to have abducted Kai.
