Blaser USA and MidwayUSA Foundation recently teamed up to host an unusual fundraiser at Joshua Creek Ranch—in Boerne, Texas—that benefited youth shooting sports. The special event was attended by participants who received hands-on shotgun training from Blaser USA pro-staff member Cory Kruse and, in the process, raised nearly $100,000. Funds raised included attendee registrations and through a generous Blaser purchase program. That money was then fully matched by the MidwayUSA Foundation and is now part of the organization’s youth shooting sports endowments.
“The Blaser USA event in Texas with Cory Kruse was a great learning experience,” said attendee Dale Barnick, coach of the Kanabec County Clay Busters in Minnesota. “We have had an endowment with MidwayUSA Foundation for 11 years, and they never cease to amaze us with ways to add money to our account.”
In addition to Blaser USA and Joshua Creek Ranch’s hospitality, other sponsors made this experience special. Federal Premium Ammunition provided all the ammo for the event, and Walker’s offered eye and ear protection to each attendee.
“We appreciate the industry stepping up to help us change the future of youth shooting sports,” said John Linquist of MidwayUSA Foundation. “Partnerships, like those involved with this event, are key to growing our industry while securing new advocates for youth shooting sports programs.”
The event did more than just garner financial support for young shooting athletes. It also provided top-notch attendee training, which is now being passed onto their respective shooting team athletes. Kruse’s wealth of experience is reflected in titles that include: 2019 World Sporting Champion; 2019 Browning Briley Champion; 2018 US Open Champion; Seven-Time Texas State Champion; Two-Time National Champion (2012 & 2003); Two-Time Masters Cup Champion; 2015 Browning Briley Champion; 2014 US Open 5-Stand Champion; 2014 PSCA Tour-2 Champion; and many others.
