An 18-year-old man, Tyler White, is arrested in the Bronx after officers find a loaded gun while stopping him for riding his bike on the sidewalk. The incident, captured on police bodycam, took place in Westchester Square early on October 23, and police claimed the stop was part of an auto larceny operation.
As officers approached, they ordered White to remove his hands from his pockets, leading to a foot chase before the discovery of the weapon. Under New York City law, riding a bicycle on the sidewalk is illegal and can lead to legal consequences. After his arrest, White was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and operating a bicycle on the sidewalk, and he is scheduled to appear in court again on November 24.
