Chicago Sports Alliances Tackles Gun Violence Again

Chicago Sports Alliances Tackles Gun Violence Again

The Chicago Sports Alliance (CSA), consisting of major professional sports franchises, announces a $1.5 million contribution to combat gun violence, marking its eighth consecutive year of support. This funding will benefit organizations like Chicago CRED, Metropolitan Family Services, and the University of Chicago Medical Center, collectively addressing the urgent needs of communities severely impacted by gun violence.

Since its inception in 2017, CSA has donated nearly $11.75 million to enhance community safety through targeted programs, such as the Southside Women’s Program and the Violence Recovery Program aimed at mental health support. The intent behind this collaborative effort is to harness the collective influence of these franchises to foster awareness and encourage sustainable solutions. A community conversation event on June 4 will further spotlight the initiatives funded this year.
