The Colorado House has voted to advance a significant piece of legislation, Colorado Senate Bill 25-003, aimed at fully enforcing existing laws on high-capacity magazines. This bill mandates permits and firearm safety training for individuals looking to purchase high-powered firearms equipped with detachable magazines, set to take effect on August 1, 2026.

As discussions around gun control continue to intensify, this development is likely to draw strong reactions from both advocates and opponents.
