The Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) is currently investigating a police-involved shooting that took place Friday afternoon in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. near the intersection of 71st and Chappel, where reports indicate that a Chicago police officer fired shots at an individual who was allegedly shooting at another person.

While there are no confirmed reports of injuries resulting from the officer’s gunfire, Chicago fire officials noted that no one was transported from the scene. COPA has not yet released additional details, prompting CBS News Chicago to reach out to the Chicago Police Department for further information as this story develops.
