Since 1971, CVA has been known for its muzzleloading firearms, transitioning from traditional-style guns to the most modern of frontloaders. In 2010, the company introduced its first centerfire rifle, with the single-shot Scout, followed in 2019 by the bolt-action Cascade. This year, CVA is expanding its cartridge-firing lineup with the introduction of the CVA Cascade Rimfire.

The Cascade Rimfire takes the styling and controls of the Cascade centerfire rifle and places it into a scaled-down rimfire package.

The rimfire Cascade takes many of its styling cues from its centerfire big brother, including the position of the safety and bolt release, in what CVA calls “a natural pairing.” The bolt-action .22 LR rifle feeds from a 10-round, rotary-box magazine that is 10/22-compatible for many aftermarket options. Its 18-inch barrel has its muzzle threaded ½x28 tpi for attaching suppressors and other accessories. The Cascade Rimfire’s trigger is non-adjustable and breaks at approximately 3 pounds. Each rifle ships from the factory with a two-piece Picatinny optics rail mounted. Stocks are fitted with quick-detachable sling swivel studs.

Among the Cascade Rimfire’s features are that it feeds from a 10-round rotary magazine that is compatible with the Ruger 10/22.

The Cascade Rimfire comes in three models. The base model Rimfire has a blued action and barrel and has a color-molded Stealth Gray polymer stock. Its MSRP is $399.

The Rimfire XT has a Tungsten Cerakote finish on the receiver and barrel, and its barrel is fluted. This combination is placed in a painted polymer stock with an olive-drab-green base color and black web texturing and has an MSRP of $449. Both the Rimfire and the Rimfire XT have a removable spacer in the stock that allows for the length-of-pull to be adjusted. Both polymer-stocked models weigh 4.75 pounds and have an oversize bolt handle.

The Rimfire Classic has a blue-metal finish, is placed in a checkered walnut stock with a satin finish and has a $499 MSRP. With a round, traditional-style bolt knob, the Classic weighs 5.5 pounds. Both the Rimfire and the Rimfire Classic are drilled and tapped for iron sights.

The CVA Cascade Rimfire fits the company’s motto of “every season, every range” by adding a rimfire option to its rifle lineup.
