A 23-year-old, Dawson Gregory Summers, is arrested after allegedly shooting a man twice during a house party in DeLand, Florida, early Sunday morning. According to police reports, the incident occurred following a physical altercation between the suspect and the victim, who were acquaintances attending a large gathering on North Kentucky Avenue.
The altercation escalated after Summers reportedly provoked the victim, leading to a challenge that prompted Summers to retrieve a firearm from his vehicle. After the two engaged in what authorities refer to as “mutual combat,” the victim was shot twice and required hospitalization. As investigations continue, police are encouraging anyone with additional information to come forward.
