Fayetteville Mayor Mitch Colvin advocates for a 9 p.m. curfew for unattended minors following a weekend marked by three shootings in just six hours. This proposal comes in the wake of heightened concerns about safety, particularly after an incident during the Dogwood Festival, a local tradition, where gunfire erupted but thankfully resulted in no injuries.

Along with the curfew, Colvin considers declaring a state of emergency and has outlined plans for stricter penalties for non-compliant parents.
