James River Insurance Co. and SCCY Industries LLC have agreed to settle a legal dispute regarding insurance coverage linked to lawsuits over ghost guns in New York. This settlement, finalized in a filing with the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida, addresses claims that SCCY’s role in gun violence was not covered under the insurance policy provided by James River.

The resolution comes in the wake of lawsuits filed by the cities of Rochester and Buffalo, highlighting concerns over the proliferation and impact of ghost guns on public safety. As both parties work to finalize the settlement agreement, this case is significant for the ongoing discourse on gun violence liability and insurance in the firearm industry.
