For the entirety of 2026, we’re celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, and the firearm industry continues to roll out commemorative products to mark the occasion. It was, after all, a hard-won victory made only possible by the skills of patriot marksmen.
If you’re still deliberating on whether to add commemorative ammunition or other gear to your collection, there’s even more to consider. Act before it’s too late, though, supplies won’t last forever and some are limited editions, including Smith & Wesson’s America 250 Limited Edition Model 642 America 250 Edition (above, bottom left) and Model 66 Combat Magnum America 250 Edition revolvers (above, bottom right).
The Model 642 America 250 Limited Edition commemorates America’s 250th anniversary while delivering the proven reliability and concealability of the iconic J-Frame platform. Chambered in .38 Spl. +P with a 1.875-inch stainless steel barrel and 5-round capacity, this lightweight revolver is designed for personal defense and everyday carry. Its enclosed hammer and double-action-only trigger create a smooth, snag-free profile for fast, consistent draws.
The Model 66 Combat Magnum America 250 Limited Edition blends classic heritage with versatile magnum performance. Built on the renowned K-Frame platform, it is chambered in both .357 Mag. and .38 Spl. +P, allowing shooters to tailor recoil and performance to their needs. The 2.75-inch stainless steel barrel, 6-round capacity, and double-action/single-action trigger provide enhanced versatility, offering the choice of rapid double-action function or a lighter, more precise single-action trigger pull.
Both wear a USA 250 laser-engraved side plate and an enhanced blue synthetic grip. The Model 642 version also has a distinctive red thumb piece. The Model 66’s serrated ramp front sight with red insert, and a fully adjustable rear sight provides greater accuracy and customization. For full details visit Smith-Wesson.com.
250th Anniversary Limited-Edition Model 1854
Smith & Wesson has also released a 250th Anniversary a Limited-Edition Model 1854 (above, top). In 1854, Smith & Wesson founders Horace Smith & Daniel Wesson patented their first lever gun and, to honor that historic milestone, the Model 1854 Series was born. Manurhin Limited-Edition MR73 Liberty Revolver
Beretta USA introduced the Manurhin MR73 Liberty (above center), a limited-edition revolver created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence. The MR73 Liberty celebrates the enduring pursuit of liberty and the historic alliance between France and the United States that helped secure American independence.
Built on the legendary MR73 platform, each MR73 Liberty is meticulously hand-crafted in Saint-Bonnet-le-Château, France, where generations of skilled artisans continue Manurhin’s tradition of uncompromising precision and craftsmanship. Designed as both a collector’s piece and a high-performance revolver, the Liberty edition introduces exclusive features never before offered on the MR73.
The revolver also pays tribute to the French craftsmen whose work helped secure American independence. During the Revolutionary War, the majority of the small arms used by the Continental Army were manufactured in France, with many produced just miles from present-day Saint-Bonnet-le-Château, where Manurhin revolvers are hand-crafted today. The engraved coat of arms of Saint-Bonnet-le-Château represents the historic mark that would have identified arms originating from the town in the 1770s, creating a direct connection between the French firearms that equipped American Patriots and the craftsmanship that continues there today.
Created specifically for this anniversary edition, the MR73 Liberty features the platform’s first-ever 4-inch heavy-profile cold hammer-forged barrel, delivering enhanced balance, stability and recoil control. An unfluted cylinder provides increased rotational mass for a smoother recoil impulse and a distinctive appearance. A classic Partridge front sight paired with an adjustable LPA rear sight provides the precise sight picture expected from the MR73’s legendary match-grade performance. Commemorative details include a “Liberty” barrel engraving inspired by the Declaration of Independence’s enduring phrase, “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness,” and the historic coat of arms of Saint-Bonnet-le-Château, the birthplace of Manurhin craftsmanship. Only 100 of these special revolvers are being produced—worldwide.
