Florida Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Carjacking

Stephon Dewaunn Dudley, Jr. is sentenced to 25 years in state prison for his role in an armed carjacking that occurred at a Pensacola Whataburger in May 2023. The 25-year-old was found guilty of carjacking with a firearm and robbery with a deadly weapon, with evidence including a firearm and stolen items discovered after a high-speed chase that resulted in the death of his accomplice.

On the morning of the carjacking, Dudley brandished a gun as he and a co-defendant stole a victim’s car keys, wallet, and other valuables in the restaurant’s parking lot. Following the theft, police located the stolen vehicle two days later, leading to a crash and connection between Dudley and the crime through recovered DNA evidence and images found on his phone. Just four months prior, he had been released from prison after serving time for multiple offenses, highlighting a troubling pattern of criminal behavior.
