On the morning of the carjacking, Dudley brandished a gun as he and a co-defendant stole a victim’s car keys, wallet, and other valuables in the restaurant’s parking lot. Following the theft, police located the stolen vehicle two days later, leading to a crash and connection between Dudley and the crime through recovered DNA evidence and images found on his phone. Just four months prior, he had been released from prison after serving time for multiple offenses, highlighting a troubling pattern of criminal behavior.
