FPC Sues to Halt Colorado’s New Firearm Tax Law

The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) has filed a lawsuit against Colorado’s recently implemented tax on firearms, parts, and ammunition, labeling it as unconstitutional and harmful to Second Amendment rights. This legal action aims not only to abolish the new tax in Colorado but also to set a precedent against similar taxes across the United States.

FPC President Brandon Combs emphasizes that such taxes unfairly target gun owners and could lead to broader implications, stating that allowing the tax could pave the way for states to impose exorbitant taxes on any constitutional rights they oppose. Joining FPC in this fight are notable plaintiffs, including members from the Colorado State Shooting Association and support from major organizations like the National Rifle Association.
