(Continued from Part 1. This concludes the article.)
For now, the best thing to do for many is to “Get Out” escaping blue hives and get on productive land. I have been advocating that people move to lightly populated food producing rural areas in conservative states. I live in one and I am trying to increase the number of freedom loving people over here. There is safety in numbers.
I realize how difficult it is to accomplish all of this. Whenever I talk with people who would like to live on a farm, the number one reason I hear is that people cannot afford it. I am currently working on a large article series to help people to survive this new economic paradigm where jobs are disappearing and expenses keep on rising because of inflation. It is not getting better out there for regular hard-working folks. I do wish that I could report positive news, but I know many businessmen around the country who are being suffocated by the high prices for raw materials and demand destruction that occurs as people pull back from spending on finished goods as the costs of everyday mandatory expenses rises.
It is bad out there on multiple fronts and I have been debating which article series to write next. Remember, an individual can get a fatal prognosis with six months to live, but then get run over by a bus on their way from the doctor’s office. The economy is getting worse on multiple levels that are effecting families and young people starting out who rely or will rely on jobs for employment at a structural level from unemployment rising because of companies making gigantic reductions in staff because of artificial intelligence or reducing hiring of in new junior level positions. Some recent graduates out there are applying for hundreds or even thousands of jobs without even an interview. Government debt is rising faster like a temperature than our economy can productively increase its output. If this were a patient with heatstroke, it often would require quick, dramatic measures to reduce the chances of brain damage such as an ice bath.
If someone from 2019 were reading about the current state of the economy in 2026, they would think it is really bad for people in the future. But, then there is more! Currently, there is a possibility of a famine, food shortages, or a best case of even higher prices because of reduced food production because of the current high prices and low availability of fertilizer in many parts of the world. We are producing less food by choice on our farm. Our profits have stayed steady and even increased as we reduced planting crops needing heavy amounts of fertilizer because of the higher input costs.
We are currently at the lowest recorded level of wheat planted in this nation and national records began in 1919. The staple crops which provide the bulk of nutrition around the world are wheat, corn, and rice which provide from 50 to 60 percent of the calories grown. Currently, you are likely eating 2025 grown food in 2026. Right now unless something changes, it is about to get worse. An analogy for this is you going on an ocean cruise and you have only enough fuel for half of the journey and this is discovered while en route, but you are far from any shore or regular traffic. You don’t have a working radio or any auxiliary fuel tanks. You are dead in the water with only the currents and wind to carry you. There were many points in this journey where everything appears to be fine and then you suddenly realize that you are in dire straits.
Whenever I write, I try to find ways to help the most people, so I have to prioritize my articles. Higher prices, shortages, and even famines are potentially on the menu for the future unless something is done to get more crops planted and then for these crops to be fertilized at very specific intervals to achieve maximum yield. Most people cannot afford to survive what is likely coming because they don’t have the resources right now to be on a farm or have the ability to go to a farm they own or owned by a friend if its gets really bad in the cities. It is a conundrum almost like the puzzle of “you need experience to get a job, but then you need a job to get experience.” Solving the famine equation is really simple: have plenty of food and a way to grow more. The problem with surviving is often one of resources, so an article about financial planning will be precede one on famine unless “mushrooms” of a different sort become an even higher possibility.
I live in a very conservative red state on a rural farm, but I have traveled a lot, so I keep a pulse on the economic and social health of this nation to figure out what is really going on. I know of people in blue states who want to “Get Out,” but various obligations or reasons are preventing them from doing so such as needing to wait until they qualify for a pension or being unsure about moving to a new area. I don’t know about everywhere and everyone in every conservative area, but I know about my family in that we welcome talking to people and try our best to help people.
What are quick things that a man can be doing right now? I always try and leave people with a path of solutions. It is easy to write about how bad things are, but my grandfather would often remark that complaining about something is a reaction, not a solution. Men need to be laser focused on solutions. If you have always dreamed of owning a piece of ground and living in the country, what are you doing about it? I have met so many “cubicle dreamers,” but not that many men who are actually figuring out how can I afford the dream by putting pen to paper and crunching numbers.
Are you willing to take a lunch to work instead of eating out, buy a vehicle less than the maximum that you can “qualify for” in terms of a loan, or any other thing that people see as a sacrifice? Yes, sacrifices will be needed. I will give you many more concrete ideas in my “financial preparations” article, but not actually doing the work is like looking at someone exercising and then expecting to achieve weight loss or increased muscle mass without doing the exercise. In order to get to this level of preparedness, my family has made countless sacrifices over three generations with each generation having a little more security that today to have reached a point that we could survive a long-lasting economic collapse and famine.
A lot of people think blue hives are convenient as there are stores with readily available food and supplies. I will humbly submit that you are at best looking at mostly a mirage. Very limited supplies are in the cities to cover for mere hours of sustained purchases after even a small percentage of people figure out that the end of civilization as we know it or even just a routine natural disaster will be arriving soon. Most stores have very little inventory on hand. I have talked to many people from clerks stocking shelves to store managers to owners of grocery stores to supply chain experts. People will often say, “I can just go to the store and look at how convenient it is.” That convenience cannot rival the convenience that many prepared individuals enjoy of having rooms filled with supplies. I can go “shopping” at any time without leaving the grounds of my family’s farm.
Over the years starting with my grandparents, we have traced many of our ancestors who immigrated from Europe from the 1600s forward. In many cases, it was a story of sometimes just one or two people who came over trying for a better life. We have fled European religious wars, revolutions, and famines and survived. The situation right now is difficult, but one thing is certain in that if you are reading this your ancestral DNA is one of survival because your ancestors were around in that same world and were smart enough to be able to pass the DNA torch onto your parents and maybe you right now have children and are looking forward to grandchildren. One of the most important questions is future focused: What do you want for your children, grandchildren, and their grandchildren? There is a better life out there in red states for conservative traditional minded people.
We do not know which threat will be the final blow to this system whether it is AI getting out of control, the economy collapsing, a famine, or some other threat currently lurking in the shadows waiting to strike. People who want to survive a long-term emergency have very few options:
1. Move to a safe area. Develop a homestead in this area with all necessary supplies and equipment to survive indefinitely. Currently, the cost of this could be millions of dollars, many years of time, and is out of the reach of most people. We spent less, but to get to this level has been over generations with a lot of our own labor. I doubt there are decades left to get to this level.
2. Flee to a farm in a safe area during a crisis. Country people are usually very friendly, but I know of no one who is taking in strangers. I only know of people with plans to invite select family members and friends who live out of the area where their supplies are pre-positioned. Some people think they will buy their way into safety in a crisis. I have my doubts.
3. Move in with farm relatives. During the Great Depression of the 1930s, many people moved in with relatives who still lived in rural areas. Most people today are not even on a first name basis with a farmer much less could move back to Grandpa’s Farm. I encourage conservative families with daughters to marry into farm families to improve the future prospects of their grandchildren.
4. Move in with friends who own a farm. I was born because of a family in a distant city introduced my mother to my father. This family does not live anywhere near us, but if they needed to come over here in a crisis we would open our doors and pantry to them. We even have stored supplies for this family that they don’t even know about. I could easily imagine a scenario where a like-minded family helped me to find my future wife and I extended an invitation to them in a crisis. Since it is very late to build a self-sufficient farm and retreat, if I were not in situation of living on a farm, I would be doing everything I could to marry into a farm family or become a friend of a farmer!
A Golden Opportunity to Move
If you have been keeping up with my multiple article series that have been posted on SurvivalBlog about retreats, farming, economic conditions, and general preparedness thoughts, you may have arrived at the same conclusion that the systems of the world are rapidly falling apart. It is getting worse out there both economically and socially. My problem in finding one single young woman to be my wife is characteristic of the current declining environment for traditional conservative men who seek traditionally minded spouses.
I have been seriously thinking and praying about how to be able to get married.
The following summarizes my search for a spouse in the United States:
I am offering up to $50,000 to be given as a gift after marriage to the person who introduces me to my spouse, if my wife and I become the parents of two healthy children. This gift is in up to three parts: $18,000 will be given after marriage to you if you provided the introduction and two payments of $16,000 given after the birth of each healthy child up to two. Thus, if I get married because of your introduction and we have two healthy children, then you would receive the full $50,000. That is the largest potential gift that I have ever seen anywhere for helping anyone to find their spouse.
I ask you to sincerely consider any single young woman that you know who matches the criteria I list and talk to her or her parents.
I know in my heart that there are many young women out there who truly want to be wives and mothers. My future wife is out there somewhere, so I am trying to find the people who know her among their family or friends.
Since this is now a fairly unusual way to find a spouse in modern society, I will tell you more about myself and the basic qualities that I am looking for in a potential spouse and answer a few questions that you might have.
Here is the basic criteria that I seek to find in a young woman:
- Christian
- Mid-20s to early 30s in age
- Conservative
- Wants to be married and have children
- Physically and mentally healthy
- Average height and normal weight range
- Non-smoker
- Good personality
- Domestic skills such as cooking, or has an interest in learning
- Single, never married, and does not have children, OR
- Young widow with very young children, OR
- Young woman who is Biblically divorced without children
I am a fairly flexible person and this criteria covers millions of young women. I would like to emphasize that I am not a judgmental man and I am always seeking to understand the perspective of others
If you know of a young woman, have spoken with her or her family, and they will also be writing in, be sure to also write in, so we know who recommended the young woman first as I suppose that there could be multiple readers who write to us about the same young woman who know her and her family. So, whoever writes me about her first, will be the one who receives my gift.
If you think you might be the young woman I have been praying to find, or you know her in your family or among your friends, could you please tell her so she or her family could e-mail Mr. Rawles writing an introduction? Please write in detail about yourself and your family including your religious beliefs and other interests including hobbies. His address is jamesATrawles.to (Change “AT” to an @ sign). If you have written a detailed introduction and have not heard back from either myself or Mr. Rawles after a week, then please write again.
Since I know people will have lots of questions, I have written the answers to many possible questions and this can be found at the link at the bottom of this message. One of the most common questions is about if any farming experience is needed for a future spouse: I do want to emphasize that no farm experience is necessary for my future spouse as she not need to do any “farming.” I live on a farm producing the calories needed to feed hundreds of people. I presently spend an enormous amount of time trying to find my future wife as this is critically important for me, so I have even traveled during the harvest season to do so. I am thankful to our farm workers who have helped us for years with various agricultural tasks as my family has a variety of business interests. That answer and more than a dozen others are at this link.
If you are an international reader or know a young woman overseas, then please read my thoughts on a possible international quest in the frequently asked questions in the blog post linked above. Western Civilization is receding across the globe as many areas in Europe are being inundated with immigrant invaders with very incompatible cultures. I have also been closely following the current events of countries in Southern Africa.
