A Park Forest man, 19-year-old Dewan Frazier, and a juvenile passenger were arrested during a traffic stop in Beach Park, Illinois, where law enforcement discovered a “ghost gun,” a weapon without a serial number. The deputy initiated the stop due to the vehicle’s suspended registration and discovered the firearm, along with another loaded gun, after noticing a strong smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
In addition to the ghost gun, officers found a second firearm with a drum magazine in the trunk, leading to charges of unlawful possession of a firearm against the juvenile, who is now in juvenile detention. Frazier is also facing cannabis possession charges. The incident underscores ongoing concerns about untraceable firearms and their presence in communities, prompting renewed dialogue on gun regulation and public safety.
