Gold Expert Mike Fuljenz Highlights His Successful NRA Annual Meetings Experience

Universal Coin & Bullion (UCB) attended the 154th NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Atlanta, Ga., and company president Dr. Mike Fuljenz, known widely as America’s Gold Expert, highlighted his positive experience in his monthly Metals Market Report.

“We just returned from a large NRA convention in Atlanta,” Fuljenz began the report. “The level of interest and enthusiasm for our products by the public was palpable, considering the price of gold is up 25% in 2025.”

At the Annual Meetings, UCB held its 14th Freedom First Financial Seminar, where a panel of experts, including Fuljenz, provided detailed information regarding gold, rare gold coins, IRAs, counterfeit deterrence and other topics. You can watch the full seminar here. The company also sponsored the annual NRA Prayer Breakfast on Sunday, April 27, at which Hollywood actor Kevin Sorbo was the keynote speaker. A dedicated Christian, Sorbo provided attendees with his insights on the current state of Hollywood and the film industry.

Fuljenz also highlighted that the price of gold has risen consistently in 2025. Its three-month gain of 25.5 percent in value has almost reached the full-year gain of 27.5 percent achieved in 2024. Meanwhile, stocks have been volatile.

“Gold is a crisis hedge, and the disruption that followed many of Trump’s first actions in his first 100 days outweighed the hopes that these actions would have a long-term positive outcome,” Fuljenz noted in his report. “That’s one reason why gold soared and stocks fell in April—the month when high tariffs were announced on April 2nd, even though a week later, their implementation was delayed for 90 days, many of which are reciprocal. Basically, ‘what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.'”

Fuljenz is a longtime benefactor of the National Rifle Association, a recipient of the NRA’s Ring of Freedom Award and also the official bullion and rare coin expert of NRA Media. In 2021, he was honored as Dealer of the Year by the Congressionally-chartered American Numismatic Association (ANA). A year later, in 2022, Fuljenz was honored at the recent 2022 Chicago World’s Fair of Money for a reference book he wrote about historic 19th century United States gold coins. In 2023, the ANA again honored Fuljenz with its Chester L. Krause Distinguished Service Award, the association’s highest honor, given in recognition of numerous years of outstanding, dedicated service to numismatics.
